France funds €20m presidential palace restoration in Ethiopia

President Emmanuel Macron discussed the idea with his counterpart, Abiy Ahmed in March 2019. It was formalised on 16 July with the signature of an agreement between the minister of finance, Ahmed Shide, the country director at the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Valérie Tehio, and Frédéric Bontems, French ambassador to Ethiopia.
