IFC provides $20 million for Ethiopian banks Dashen and Hibret Bank
The Washington-based multilateral organisation wants to improve trade in the country by supporting two of its largest private banks.

The IFC will give $10 million to Dashen Bank in the form of a bank guarantee for domestic trade finance. An identical loan will be made to Hibret Bank, with the same amount and the same instrument. The banks must utilise the cash released by IFC within the next six months.
