EDF prepares financial completion of 220 MW hybrid project in South Africa
Named Umoyilanga, the power plant is part of the 2,000 MW emergency power programme launched by Pretoria.

Named a preferred bidder in March, along with Acwa Power and Karpowership on other units, EDF Renewables South Africa is expected to complete the financial closing of its project before the end of the year. The current schedule is for October, for an immediate start to construction.
