Octopus Ventures and Lateral Capital to back Pngme’s development in Africa

The two venture capitalists have invested in the company, which specialises in developing critical data infrastructure and machine learning (AI) models. Based in San Francisco, the company is preparing to expand into sub-Saharan Africa after recently raising $15 million.

“Pngme’s infrastructure has processed billions of data points from hundreds of financial institutions across sub-Saharan Africa. We plan to double our Insights library and expand our third-party data connections to other markets over the next year,” said Cate Rung, COO and co-founder of Pngme.
