Ivorian-Liberian Electricity Project: Afry, Nexon, Tractebel and WSP in the running for the consultancy component
The groundwork for the landmark electricity interconnection project between Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea is being laid. The project, budgeted at more than $476.7 million, and the numerous calls for tender that followed are being scrutinised by major international consulting firms.

At the end of August, four pre-qualified firms for the contract to carry out studies of the line route and the environmental and social impact between Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia were appointed. The procedure was launched last February and then cancelled for administrative reasons before being re-launched on 7 April. More than a dozen companies and consortiums were vying for the contract, which represents a budget of $1.9 million.
