Niger: Voltalia, GreenYellow and Elsewedy on top again with World Bank
After Côte d’Ivoire, the trio is again among those who pre-qualified for the World Bank’s Scaling Solar programme. The programme, which involves a 50 MWp solar park, is expected to represent 20% of the country’s total electricity capacity, according to the IFC, advisor to the country’s authorities.

Two French operators active in Africa are among the successful candidates, namely Voltalia, owned by the Mulliez family, and GreenYellow, the Casino group subsidiary. GreenYellow has a contract in Madagascar and with Sonabel in Burkina Faso, while Voltalia operates in Egypt.
