IFC agrees $150 million green loan for Kenya Commercial Bank

The credit facility will target loans to SMEs or projects oriented toward the energy transition. This will provide funding for the Kenyan bank’s business, which is still in a sustained growth phase.

IFC has a long-standing business relationship with Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), the country’s leading commercial bank, and will provide it with a new facility of $50 million over seven years. The senior unsecured loan facility is being provided to the primary subsidiary KCB Bank Kenya Limited.
