Flow Equity raises $14 million to expand into Ghana and Kenya
The US-based poultry company, co-founded by David Ellis and Joseph Shields, closed a new round with participation from AgDevCo, AHL Venture Partners, Acumen Resilient Agriculture Fund (ARAF) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Flow Equity owns EthioChicken and Uzima Chicken subsidiaries, operating in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi. These entities sell day-old chicks (with their vaccines) and high-protein poultry feed to 10,000 distributors. The chicks mature after about six weeks and are then sold to small-scale farmers.
