Peter Venn, CEO Seriti Green : “We are aiming for 3 GW of green electricity sold to the industry”
The head of the new renewables subsidiary of South African mining group Seriti, a leading South African coal producer, talked to Africa Business+ about the upcoming transition to wind and solar power.

Seriti Resources was established through the black capital buyout of Anglo American assets in 2017. It operates eight mines, supplying three giant Eskom thermal power stations (Lethabo, Tutuka and Kriel). It also launched a subsidiary Seriti Green dedicated to renewables, headed by Peter Venn since December 2021.
