Hydrogen: Sasol’s Italy project estimated at €200 million  

In partnership with SONATRACH, a subsidiary of the South African company Sasol is planning a new green hydrogen and low-carbon synthesis gas production infrastructure near Syracuse, Sicily.

Named the Hybla Project, it will be developed jointly by Sasol Italy, the Italian subsidiary of the South African chemical and energy group Sasol, and three other players, including the Algerian hydrocarbon company SONATRACH. It aims to produce 7,800 tonnes annually of low-carbon hydrogen and 25,000 tonnes per year of low-carbon syngas.
