Freetown airport gets US cheque for rehabilitation

Washington, a regular donor to Sierra Leone, has again extended its hand, this time for expanding the country’s main airport operated by Turkey’s Summa.

A few months after completing work on the Freetown airport, the Summa Airports teams hope negotiations with the Development Finance Corporation to finance part of the work will be successful. The Turkish group is in talks with the US agency headed by Nathan Scott to secure half of the financing for the rehabilitation of the infrastructure, i.e. a bill of $150 million.
