Mini-grids: Engie seeks $22m MIGA guarantee in Uganda
The French energy company is developing a portfolio of 45 mini-grids, eventually providing 4MW of solar energy.

Engie has applied for support from the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the World Bank‘s guarantee facility, to cover up to $21.8 million in equity and shareholder loans required to advance these projects, which are expected to be operational by 2028. MIGA is scheduled to give the green light on 9 August.
