The Moroccan retail group (nearly 10.5 billion DH of turnover in 2019, or €975m) was working towards launching e-commerce activity in 2021, “but the coronavirus crisis accelerated everything,” Zouhair Bennani explains. “We had been in negotiations with Jumia Food for six months, and in the end, we went ahead and launched immediately.”
