Taazour pre-selects consultants for $24m multiple dams project in Mauritania
As part of the $24m plans for the renovation and construction of small dams to irrigate the country’s agricultural land, the Taazour agency has just shortlisted 18 candidates for the study component. The agency’s strategic High Council is chaired by the head of state, Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani.

According to our sources, around 20 candidates have been selected. The vast majority are local companies that have partnered with foreign entities to submit their bids, or vice versa. They include the Mauritanian AUB-TP; compatriots Afrecom, along with AC3E Burkina; GAGE/SAFI (Tunisia)/Dec-LTD (Burkina-Faso); GPS/I-SEPT (Mali)/ICOTED (Mali); CEH/SONING-BAC (Mali); and GID (Mali). Four other groupings are led by Tunisian firms: Mosaïque Ingénierie/Serah, and IAPS, EGS and ERA International, each allied respectively with Mauritanian companies BIAC, BCC and BMEC.
