M-Pesa GM Sitoyo Lopokoiyit says the company is not for sale despite capital restructuring

The fintech mobile phone platform wants to enrich its offerings and has no plans to set up in French-speaking Africa.

The restructuring of M-Pesa‘s capital last year did not indicate a possible sale by its current shareholders, Safaricom and Vodafone, said the mobile platform M-Pesa’s interim general manager Kenyan Sitoyo Lopokoiyit. He spoke at the Africa Financial Industry Summit on 10 – 11 March—organised by the Africa CEO Forum (Jeune Afrique Media Group) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) (World Bank).
