Less than a year after the announcement as head of Djibouti’s new state vehicle, the Djibouti Sovereign Fund (FSD), the axe has fallen for Mamadou Mbaye. In a statement issued Tuesday, 18 May by the Presidency of the Republic of Djibouti—and confirmed with Jeune Afrique Business+—the FSD Board of Directors “withdrew its confidence in the director-general” and “terminated his functions with immediate effect”.
