The Egyptian company Hassan Allam Construction—a subsidiary of the Hassan Allam Holding group listed on the Egyptian and London stock exchanges— won the construction contract for the Mbuji-Mayi water treatment plant in the Kasai province, worth $59,160,000.

The contract awarded by mutual agreement by the Congolese authorities falls within the framework of the partnership agreement concluded by the DRC and Egypt relating to the realisation of various projects by Egyptian companies through a study-financing and works realisation contract. Egyptian banks are mobilised to provide the funds.
