Google executive to lead CDC Group in new directions

Soon to be renamed British International Investment (BII), the development finance institution active in Africa wants to boost its investments under the guidance of a new president. The focus will be on Asia, “green” projects and digital.

Britain’s leading wholly state-owned DFI will now be led by a woman from the digital sector. Diana Layfield was appointed chairwoman as part of a reform announced on 25 November by Liz Truss, the Foreign Secretary responsible for commonwealth and development, during an event at the LSE.
