Jean-Luc Konan’s Cofina agricultural financing activity gets €26m EIB support

The European institution is granting a line of credit targeted at SMEs in the agricultural sector to the Senegalese and Ivorian subsidiaries of the group founded and directed by Jean-Luc Konan, and which is increasingly diversifying its sources of financing.

Cofina’s lending activities in the agricultural sector received a major boost from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the form of a €26 million line of credit. The group is led by Ivorian financier Jean-Luc Konan (49), a pioneer of the mesofinance concept (a level between microfinance and traditional bank loans).
