Meridiam and EDF-backed NEoT Offgrid Africa joins GDS International and ARESS in Benin project

Already operational in Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda and Sierra Leone, the investment platform owned by Meridiam and EDF has completed the financing for a rural electrification project in Benin.

The project resulted from a call for tenders from the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Benin. Valued at €8.5 million and co-financed by the MCA and NEoT Offgrid Africa (NOA) – €3.8 million in equity from the latter – the project will electrify 12 localities in the country by June 2023, Africa Business + has learned.
